Dear South Central Calhoun Families,
It’s Amy Knoll from the American Heart Association again. I wanted to reach out one final time to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all you did to make your Kids Heart Challenge so special and fun for the kiddos at South Central Calhoun.
Not only did your students have fun and learn about making healthy choices, they earned free PE equipment for South Central Calhoun and SAVED LIVES at the same time! We are so grateful for you and your efforts to raise lifesaving funds! These donations will go towards public health education, professional education and training (first responders, etc.), research, and more!
We could not have funded 67 research studies in the state of Iowa over the last 5 years without help from YOU through programs like Kids Heart Challenge. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
South Central Calhoun had 103 students take the challenge online to either “be kind” or “be active”, raising a MIND-BOGGLING SCHOOL RECORD $13,259.19!!! Because of these efforts, South Central Calhoun has earned $800 in gift certificates for PE equipment! Every student was able to participate in fun days like “Hat Day”; “Pajama Day”; “Crazy Colors/Socks Day”; and much more!
Mr. Hersom has agreed to let anyone who raised $150 or more dunk him in a dunk tank since we reached our $10,000 goal!!! I can’t wait to see that!!
We hope your family was able to learn hands-only CPR and the warning signs of a stroke for FREE at the link: http://www2.heart.org/goto/SCCElem. It’s never too early to brush up on these skills or learn them for the first time. Who knows if and when you may become a heart hero yourself!
Thanks again so much for your support and participation in Kids Heart Challenge. We are so thankful for you.
With a Grateful Heart,
Amy Knoll, American Heart Association
