NOTE REGARDING COLLEGE CREDIT COURSES: High school students taking college coursework under a concurrent enrollment agreement will be required to meet two criteria to stay in good academic standing with the college(s). 1) Must earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and 2) must satisfactorily complete 67% of credits attempted. Failure to meet either of these two criteria may impact student enrollment and/or financial aid status when enrolling at a college after high school.

Content Description:

Accounting I is an introductory course to understanding basic accounting principles. Students will acquire an understanding of the accounting cycle, key accounting terminology, and the financial statements used by actual businesses. Students will also use the knowledge and skills they acquire throughout the course to practice with a real-world simulation as accountants.

Objectives:

1) Develop an interest in accounting or other business related fields. 2) Identify accounting concepts, terminology, and methods. 3) Apply the accounting cycle to real-world businesses.

SUBJECT: COMPUTER PROGRAMMING & CODING (GRE)

CREDIT: One Credit

COURSE LENGTH: One Semester

PREREQUISITE: Algebra I

Content Description: Computer Programming & Coding is a one semester course for introduction to programming. This course is designed for a broad and diverse range of students, so experience is not required. Students will use online software to work with real-world examples from the computer programming and coding industry. Students will not only enhance their computer programming and coding skills, but they will also have the opportunity to improve their problem solving skills too.

Objectives: Computer Programming and Coding is designed to 1.) Increase interest in computer programming/coding. 2) Understand the basic fundamentals of programming. 3) Apply coding skills to real-world problems.Class size is limited to 12.

Course Description: Have you ever wondered how a TV show is produced? Are you interested in using a 3-D printer? Do you know about all the cool things you can do with iPads? All these questions and more will be answered in Titan Media Productions. Students will use a variety of different technological devices and applications to enhance their learning experience. The course consists of: creating a student newscast, creating cool items using the 3-D printers, creating stunning videos, learning about a variety of graphic file formats, and more!

Objectives: Demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology. 2) Use digital media and other digital environments to communicate and work collaboratively. 3) Enhance critical thinking skills using technological tools and resources to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions. Class size is limited to 12.

Content Description:

This is a one semester course in which students will develop and master skills related to using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and Goggle Sheets. This course will include a combination of teacher instruction, group work, and independent practice. All work will be completed inside the classroom. The skills learned in this class will be helpful for things later in life ranging from organizing data to creating a budget to writing papers and creating flyers.

 

Objectives: 1) Create useful Excel documents for all types of occasions. 2) Create useful Word documents for all types of occasions. 3) Develop keyboarding skills. 4) Develop skills using Goggle Docs and Sheets. 5) Improve organization and time management by meeting deadlines.

Content Description:

Get a thorough grounding in Adobe Photoshop,, the must-have digital imaging programs for today’s web and print designers. Hands-on projects include working with layers, making selections, incorporating color technique, creating special effects with filters and more. Create complex web graphics such as rollovers and animations. Students will be using the CC version of Adobe Creative Suites.

Objectives:

1.) To enhance graphics and imagery skills through the use of Photoshop. 2.) To learn to generate complex images for the web utilizing. 3.) To create a student portfolio of computer-generated art and/or photography. Class size is limited to 12.
