Welcome to the NEW South Central Calhoun Homeschool Assistance Program (SCCHSAP). We are pleased to provide Home School Assistance Program (HSAP) services to local families and those open enrolled into the program. The Home School Assistance Program (HSAP) offers assistance to parents/guardians who choose to teach their children at home. Parents/guardians are directly responsible for planning curriculum and teaching their children. They are free to incorporate their own values and philosophy of education. The SCC HSAP can help families by offering curriculum materials, resources, and support & guidance from a licensed supervising teacher. Resources are linked below providing further information.
Mission
The mission of the South Central Calhoun CSD HSAP program is to collaboratively support and assist families in academic and extra-curricular excellence in preparing each student for the future.
Goal
The goal of the SCC Home School Assistance Program (SCC HSAP) is to empower parents to educate their children in the home environment with the assistance of a credentialed teacher and administrative staff who can help them achieve educational goals. Home Educators take legal responsibility for the educational progress of their children. SCC HSAP will come alongside to help families meet the standards set by the State of Iowa and the South Central Calhoun Community School District with the primary responsibility remaining with parents or legal guardians.
